Our History
Bar Y Ranch is dedicated to breeding and raising proven quality AQHA horses. Owned and Operated by the Robertsons since 2001.
We pride ourselves in having bred horses that are flashy enough to show but smart enough to change gears and go to work.
Meet The Horses
We started out with a few cow-bred mares whose bloodlines include Zann Parr Bar, Mr. San Peppy, Doc O'lena and Peppy San Badger. Bred them to our stud, a grandson of Special Effort and have crossed back bloodlines over the years with our current stallions, Peptos Holy Ghost, a son of Peptoboonsmal and Handmade Hondo whose lineage come from Drifts Chip and Leo Hancock Hayes. 2022 will bring in a new type of work horse with our Suffolk Punch Draft Stallion.

Teddy is the toughest yet kindest horse I have been around. He is the best ranch horse. He will go anywhere you point him. Teddy became versatile very easily. He soon became one of the best head horses I have ridden. Then he was a heel horse and a breakaway horse. He just loves to rope and be around cattle. He is big and strong. He can run and handle the steers with ease. He is a horse that is built to last! Teddy is workhorse tough with a kind heart and a willing to try personality.

I've logged hundreds of miles on various Bar Y horses. We used them for work and to ride the range. They are tough, smart and you can ride them all day without them wearing out. I've never rode one that I didn't like.

Dally is one of those horses that desires to do it right. Getting the job done gives him privilage. He never changes whether he is under pressure or on the trail. He keeps his mind right where you ask him to be. He is truly one good horse and a lover of people.

Love her breeding and she's been a good mare. We have used her to rope and doctor in the pasture. We bred her to our Mr Gun Smoke stud. She has been a great mom and has raised the biggest filly out of our herd.
